Media repository
Upload and manage the images and videos your API Portal content uses. Images can be PNG, JPEG or GIF up to 5 MB, and videos MP4, WebM, Ogg or MOV smaller than 10 MB. Copy a file's URL, or pick an image from the repository in image fields across the dashboard.
The media repository is where you upload and manage the images and videos your API Portal content uses. You reach it under Content, Media Repository. Each file gets a hosted URL that you copy into pages, articles and documentation.
Which files can you upload?
Images in PNG, JPEG or GIF format up to 5 MB, and videos in MP4, WebM, Ogg or QuickTime (MOV) format smaller than 10 MB.

The video dialog only warns about files over 50 MB. A video between 10 MB and 50 MB does not upload: the dialog stays on the Upload video step and never shows Upload completed. Compress the video below 10 MB before you upload it.
How do you upload an image?
Choose Add image, choose the file, choose Upload Image, then choose Use this. The image appears in the grid, newest first.
- Open Content, Media Repository and choose Add image.
- Choose Choose Image, or drag a PNG, JPEG or GIF onto the dialog.
- Check the preview, then choose Upload Image.
- When the dialog shows New Image with the file's name, size and dimensions, choose Use this.
The dialog recommends 1920 x 1080 px (16:9). Apiable also makes a small thumbnail of each image for the grid.
How do you upload a video?
Choose Add video, choose the file, choose Upload video, then choose Use this once the dialog shows Upload completed. The video appears in the grid.
- Open Content, Media Repository and choose Add video.
- Choose Choose video, or drag the file onto the dialog. Keep it smaller than 10 MB.
- Play the preview if you want, then choose Upload video.
- When the dialog shows Upload completed., choose Use this.
How do you reuse an uploaded file?
Open the file's menu and choose Copy URL. A banner confirms URL copied to clipboard!, and you paste the URL wherever you reference the image or video in a portal page, article or documentation page.
In image fields elsewhere in the dashboard, such as an article's featured image or your portal logo, choose Select from Image Repository. The Select an Image dialog lists your repository images. Pick one and choose Save Changes.
Images you upload through those image fields are stored in the repository too, so they appear in its grid.
How do you find a file in the repository?
Use the filter buttons above the grid and the layout buttons beside them. Files are listed newest first. Click an image to open it full size.

The repository lists at most 1,000 images and 1,000 videos. Beyond that, some files do not appear in the grid or in Select an Image, and they are not necessarily the oldest. Their URLs keep working.
What does each file card show?
A preview, the file size in KB or MB, and a menu with Copy URL and Delete. Video cards carry a Video tag.
Videos show a still preview in the repository and do not play there. To watch one, copy its URL and open it, or play it where you use it.
How do you delete a file?
Open the file's menu and choose Delete. The Delete media dialog warns that this cannot be undone. Choose Confirm to remove the file.
Any page, article or documentation page that still uses the file's URL then shows a broken image or video, so update those first.
Troubleshooting

| An image or video you uploaded is missing from the grid | Choose All media. If you have more than 1,000 images or videos, not all of them are listed, but their URLs still work. |
| A copied URL no longer loads | The file was deleted. Upload it again and update the pages that use it. |
| There is no Select from Image Repository button in an image field | The media repository is not on your plan. You can still upload an image directly in the field. |
